“COSMAX is proud of three important achievements. First, COSMAX has become the world leader in the cosmetics ODM business. Secondly, COSMAX has been able to advance beyond only achieving corporate goals, to help K-Beauty establish its firm presence in the world, while contributing towards easing economic stagnation in Korea. And lastly, COSMAX has successfully achieved business globalization by establishing production hubs in different countries, to create a presence in their respective domestic markets.
I believe that concerns for the growth of the Korean cosmetics industry could be summarized into four different parts.
First, how do we sustain the global influence of Korean Beauty for a long period of time?
Second, how do we make the Southeast Asian market, which will develop into a market with favorable conditions within five to ten years, remain under the influence of the Korean cosmetics industry, as well as defend it from Chinese companies?
Third, will COSMAX be able to sustain or increase its market dominance achieved in the offline market, while online channels are rising to become the mainstream market worldwide.
And the fourth, will COSMAX be able to maintain its current market position amid increasing competition with local companies from the Chinese market and Japanese companies, as well as other rising influences in the coming years?
If skincare products have previously played a pivotal role in the globalization of Korean beauty, from now on, it’ll become even more important to combine the speed and bright ideas of Korea, with Chinese culture, to create new trends that lead the color cosmetics market. In other words, it’s necessary to rebuild the influence of Korean beauty in color cosmetics by strengthening connections with various celebrities, including the Korean Wave and Korean idols. In the end, it will be a battle of speed, agility, flexibility and ideas. Korean people have very advantageous qualities and infrastructure in these areas.”
